Juggling Slinky and Bowling Balls!

"The Amazing Adventures of the Recycling Wizard" is a brand new educational and theatrical extravaganza featuring eye-popping magic, jaw-dropping juggling, foot-tapping music and knee-slapping comedy! Mild-mannered Mr. SweepUp morphs into the waste-fighting superhero, the Recycling Wizard, in Rock Steady Juggling's latest production for elementary schools.

The Recycling Wizard encourages students and teachers to buy recycled products as he juggles a bowling ball, a machete and a slinky! A student volunteer takes center stage to act out the story of "The Worminator", as the audience learns about the process of vermicomposting. A recycling relay race highlights what to recycle and how to prevent waste from ending up in the landfill. The Recycling Wizard heroically mounts a six foot unicycle and juggles the 4 R's (reduce, reuse, recycle, rot) in a death-defying and nail-biting finale!

Waste Not, Want Not!

'Waste Not, Want Not!' is a 40-minute middle school assembly program that effectively educates students and teachers about the importance of recycling and waste prevention in a fun and entertaining manner. Doug uses juggling, physical comedy, magic and audience interaction to maintain the students' interest and enthusiasm for learning concepts of waste reduction. The show teaches students and faculty how to incorporate environmentally sound habits into their daily lives.

In one routine, a teacher volunteer is coaxed onstage to assist in teaching the students how to juggle three inflatable globes. Each globe illustrates the concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling. Next, a student finds herself balancing a spinning ball in each hand and a spinning plate on her head as the concept of 'closing the loop on waste' is presented. Doug encourages his audience to buy recycled products as he deftly executes sleight of hand magic. The cycle of composting is taught as Doug attempts the improbable and flirts with disaster by juggling a watermelon, a raw egg and a tree branch!
